Abstract

Objective: To determine the degree of depression, anxiety and stress in health professionals who are in the
COVID-19 treatment areas of the Regional Hospital of Ica in April 2021. Materials and methods:
Observational, cross-sectional, prospective, descriptive study in 48 health workers who work in treatment
areas for COVID-19. The DASS-21 questionnaire was used, and the statistical analysis was performed using
the SPSS v22 program, obtaining the absolute and percentage values. Results: Depression was present in
62.6% of health workers, anxiety was present in 62.6% of respondents, stress was manifested in 31.3% of
participants. Depression, anxiety and stress disorders were manifested in higher degrees in workers working
in critical areas of COVID-19 treatment. Conclusions: More than half of the workers present some degree of
depression and anxiety and to a lesser extent, stress likewise, the greater degree of depression, anxiety and
stress in health personnel is associated with the work area where critical patients from COVID-19 are found.
