RESUMEN
Objetivo: Evaluar el proceso de Desinfección de Alto Nivel (DAN) de gastroscopios en un
hospital público de Ica-Perú 2021. Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional, transversal
descriptivo realizado en una muestra de 60 procesos de desinfección de alto nivel de
gastroscopios seleccionados a través del muestreo no probabilístico discrecional en el que se
incluyeron los procedimientos de gastroscopía programados y se excluyeron los de urgencia,
realizado en el consultorio de gastroenterología del Hospital Regional Nivel II-2 de la provincia
de Ica, Perú. La recopilación de datos se realizó con la guía de observación de reprocesamiento
de endoscopios validado por juicio de expertos y con una confiabilidad según el Coeficiente
KR-20 igual a 0,95, elaborado en base al Manual de esterilización para centros de la salud de la
OPS y a las directrices de la Organización Mundial de Gastroenterología, el instrumento consta
de 8 dimensiones y 28 ítems. Resultados: Según el instrumento de evaluación aplicado se
evidencian que, los procedimientos de secado, enjuague y secado finales (n=60; 100%), la
pre-limpieza (n=54; 90%), el enjuague (n=44; 73%), la limpieza (n=34;57%), el almacenamiento
(n=30; 50%), son procedimientos inadecuados; mientras que el procedimiento de desinfección
es adecuado en (n=56; 93%) de los procesos. Conclusión: El proceso completo de Desinfección
de Alto Nivel (DAN) de gastroscopios es inadecuado en el 100% de los procedimientos de
gastroscopías.

ABSTRACT
Objective: To evaluate the process of High-Level Disinfection (HLD) of gastroscopes in a public
hospital in Ica-Peru 2021. Materials and methods: Observational, cross-sectional descriptive
study carried out in a sample of 60 high-level disinfection processes of gastroscopes selected
at through discretionary non-probabilistic sampling in which scheduled gastroscopy
procedures were included and emergency procedures were excluded, performed in the
gastroenterology office of the Hospital Regional Level II-2 in the province of Ica, Peru. The data
collection was carried out with the endoscope reprocessing observation guide validated by
expert judgment and with a reliability according to the KR-20 Coefficient equal to 0.95,
prepared based on the Sterilization Manual for health centers of the PAHO and the guidelines
of the World Gastroenterology Organization, the instrument consists of 8 dimensions and 28
items. Results: According to the evaluation instrument applied, it is evident that the final
drying, rinsing and drying procedures (n=60; 100%), pre-cleaning (n=54; 90%), rinsing (n=44;
73%), cleaning (n=34; 57%), storage (n=30; 50%), are inadequate procedures; while the
disinfection procedure is adequate in (n=56; 93%) of the processes. Conclusion: The complete
process of High Level Disinfection (HLD) of gastroscopes is inadequate in 100% of gastroscopy
procedures.
